New Pediatric Dental Patients: It is our goal to have your first visit to our practice establish a vital foundation for our relationship with you and your child (children). To begin we will need to obtain some background information that you fill out in our New Patient History Form. You may choose to download the form, have us mail it to you or complete it at your first visit. If you have a dental benefit plan, please bring your Insurance card. At your initial visit we will do a complete examination, cleaning and topical fluoride treatment and take any necessary x-rays. Parents are welcome to be in the operatory with their child to observe.

New Orthodontics Patients: Your first visit will be a consultation which is complimentary. We will verbally take a brief medical and dental history and then examine your child’s “bite,” explain the likely course of treatment and answer your questions. Should you elect to proceed we will schedule an appointment for Orthodontic Records to be followed by a consultation during which an individualized treatment plan will be presented. You do not have to be a regular Patient in the office on our Pediatric side to become an Orthodontic Patient.

What To Expect
Pediatric Dental Patients: For our youngest patients we use the "Tell-Show-Do" approach.  We tell your child what we are going to do; we show them what we are going to do; and then we do it.  This helps to eliminate the anxiety they may have about having us examining and treating them with dental instruments and tools they are not familiar with.  We give them a pair of sunglasses to wear during their examination so the bright light does not bother them and if they want they are provided a hand held mirror so they can see what we are doing at all times.  At the conclusion of the visit we take their picture holding our "big toothbrush," let them select a "prize" and give them a "goody bag" with a new toothbrush, flossers and toothpaste. Our goal is to make you and your child feel comfortable and welcome in our office.

Orthodontic Patients: We will do a visual examination to determine if your child is a candidate for orthodontic treatment and give you as much information as possible about the likely course of treatment.  We will give you an estimate of the cost of treatment and outline your payment options.  If you have a benefit plan that includes orthodontics please bring that information with you.  We will want to obtain a "pre-treatment estimate" from your Insurance company to see what their level of their participation will be.
